Are we 'Iron Man'?

Metals inside of our Body

It might be strange, but our body not only contains iron, but also many different types of metals, such as Copper(Cuprum). Stange, huh? Well, there is a list of them, which will be discussed below.
Copper, one of the most used metals,
having a great conductivity of heat and
electricity
Metals help to form bones, teeth, blood and other types of tissues. Their deficiency and excess can cause diseases. Lets talk about the role of each metal:

  • Lithium: It is present in body in trace amounts. In higher concentration, lithium is effective as a medical tool for the bipolar disorder and mania.
lithium, also used in making lithium ion batteries
  • Calcium: Structure of bone and teeth. Also plays vital role in the growth of nerve cells.

  • Magnesium: Significant in bone structure and its deficiency leads to Tetany(Muscle spasms). Also, its deficiency means the deficiency of calcium. It is also a major electrolyte mineral.

  • Potassium(Kalium): Major electrolyte of blood. Required for the balance of PH and Osmotic pressure. It also allows our muscles to move, our nerves to fire, and our kidneys to filter blood.

  • Iron(Ferrum): Contained in Haemoglobin and myoglobin which are required for Oxygen transport in body. Anemia(deficiency of healthy Red Blood Cells or Haemoglobin) is resulted from Iron deficiency. Excess Iron can enlarge liver, and provoke diabetes and Cardiac failure. The genetic disease Hemochromatosis(disorder when too much iron is produced in your body, also known as "Iron overload") results from excess Iron intake.

  • Copper(Cuprum): A copper deficiency can result in anemia. Excess copper levels results in liver malfunction and is associated with the genetic disorder Wilson's disease.

  • Zinc: Important for reproductive function. Excess level of zinc may cause anemia or reduced bone formation.

  • Selenium: Deficiency causese Cardiomyopathy(heart damage) and Keshan's Disease.
    Selenium
  • Cobalt: Contained in vitamin B12. Excess may result in Cardiac failure.
    Cobalt
  • Molybdenum: An excess can cause diarrhea and growth reduction.

  • Chromium: A cofactor in regulation of sugar levels. Chromium deficiency may cause Hyperglycemia and glucosuria.
Some of these metals are responsible for our moods. For example, Low potassium levels have been associated with greater risk for mood disturbances and depression.
Difficult terms in the post:
  • Myoglobin: An oxygen and iron binding protein found in Muscle tissues of vertebrates. In easy words, it has the same duty as of Haemoglobin, to supply oxygen to body. Haemoglobin is also iron binding protein, but in blood.
  • Hemochromatosis: It is a disorder where your body builds too much iron. It is also known as "Iron Overload". Normally, your intestines absorb the right amount of iron from the food you eat, but in this disorder, it absorbs too much.
  • Anemia: It is a condition that develops when your blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells or haemoglobin. As a result, your body has a low supply of Oxygen.
  • Wilson disease: It is a rare genetic disorder. In it, your body takes too much copper. The copper deposits in liver, brain, and other tissues. This copper deposit results in tissue damage, tissue death, and scarring, which causes the affected organs to stop working correctly.
  • Keshan disease: It is the deficiency of Selenium metal which results in the weakening of heart. It was first observed in Keshan county(Where it get its name from) Heilongjiang province, China.
Heilongjiang province, shown in red color
  • Hyperglycemia: elevated blood sugar

CONCLUSION

There may be a list of the metals found in human body. But the main of this post is to reflect on this Qur'anic Ayah:
Surah Teen, verse 4
(95:4)
By reading this verse, we can reflect how much best creation we are. We are'nt mere humans, we are the best creation. We have the sign of Allah in ourselves:

We are special. That's how we come to know how Allah have honored us:
"We have honored the progeny of Adam;"(Surah Isra, verse 17)(17:70)
17:70 Qur'an
We should now thanks Allah for honoring. Thanking Allah involves to fulfill Allah's orders. Let's change ourselves by observing Allah's nature. We can strengthen our faith through it. Also, we learn to observe things, and also not to count problems but blessings.
                                                                   MAY ALLAH STRENGTHEN
                                                                                OUR FAITH,
                                                                                    AMEEN!

Jummah(Friday) Mission

Jummah

“The best day during which the sun has risen is Friday. It is the Day Adam was created. It is the day when Adam entered paradise and also when he was taken out from it. It is also the day on which the Day of Judgment takes place.” (Muslim)

"And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may succeed.
And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may succeed."(Surah Jummah: 9-10)
Visiting sick, giving charity, discovering what people do these days, helping each other, it is a necessary thing Muslims should do instead of sleeping in this day. In the Verse above, the word 'Fazl' is used meaning 'bounty' or 'reward' of Allah. What Allah meant by this verse is that Muslims should visit those who need others help and do what they can. It can be visiting sick, or like cleaning someone's house who is alone and needy, like Abu Bakr used to do, and helping widows and poor, just like Prophet used to do. Friday is the day when Muslim community can be united, so, Muslims should prevent thinking this day as a normal day. We often think of Ramazan being the month where Muslims can come close to Allah, but it is not the case, it is every day and so it is also Friday. Muslims should be especially work for others in this day.

10 things, must be done in the day of Jummah:
  • Taking bath and purify oneself completely by observing Ghusl (grand ablution). Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar (R.A) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah, pbuh say: ‘When one of you wants to come to Jumu’ah, let him perform Ghusl.” (Muslim)
  • “I testify that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said: “The taking of bath on Friday is compulsory for every Muslim who has attained the age of puberty; and also cleaning of teeth with Siwak and using perfume, if available.” (Bukhari)
  • Walking towards the mosque, as it results in attainment of blessings on one step and forgiveness of sins on another.                                                                                                  Abu Hurrairah (R.A) described Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) speaking as:“He who purifies (performs Wudu’) himself in his house and then walks to one of the houses of Allah (mosque) for performing an obligatory Salat, one step of his will wipe out his sins and another step will elevate his rank (in Jannah).” (Muslim)
  • Reaching masjid as early as possible, especially before the Sermon.                                          “On the day of Jummah, the angels stand at the entrance of that Masjid in which Jummah salaat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the Masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this. The person who entered first will receive the reward of sacrificing a camel in the path of Allah; the one who followed him will get the reward of sacrificing a cow, thereafter a chicken, thereafter the reward of giving an egg as charity in the path of Allah.Once the khutbah commences, the angels close the register and begin listening to the khutbah. “(Muslim and Bukhari)
  • Sitting as closely to Imam as possible to benefit from its lecture, since Angels too listen to it carefully.                                                                                                                                                    “Because when the Imam comes out (to deliver Khutbah), the angles come to listen to the Dhikr.” (Bukhari)
  • Listening attentively to Khutba (Sermon)“Whoever says to his friend while Imam is delivering Khutbah on Friday “keep quiet” also commit absurdity.” (Muslim and Bukhari)
  • Reciting Surah Al-Kahf on this day.                                                                                          Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (R.A) narrated a Hadith as:“Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).” (Al-Daarimi)
  • Sending lots of blessings on Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in the form of Durood.             “Recite Durood upon me in abundance on the day of Jummah since they are presented to me.” (Ibn Majah)
  • Supplicating to Allah for His mercy constantly.                                                                       Abu Hurrairah narrated Prophet (PBUH) stating as:“On this day there is a time when no Muslim stands and prays, asking Allah for something, but Allah will grant him it” – and he gestured with his hands to indicate how short that time is. [Bukhari 893 Muslim, 852]

Are We Muslims?

What a Muslim do

Never misses a prayer

Ibn Umar (r.a.) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) stated the following: “The place of prayer (salah) in religion is like the place of the head in the body.” (Majmau’l-Awsat, 3:154, (2313.) Imam Tabarani, Mu’jamu’s-Saghir)

The following is reported from Abdullah bin Qurt (May Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “On the Day of Judgment, a slave will be questioned about his prayers first. If his prayers are good, his other deeds will be good, too. If his prayers are bad, his other deeds will be bad, too.” (Tabarani, Targhib)

The following is reported from Jabir Ibn Abdullah (r.a): The Prophet (pbuh) said, “Between faith and unbelief is abandoning the prayer.” (Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Musnad)

The following is reported from Hz. Nawfal bin Muawiya (r.a.):  “A person who does not perform a prayer on time is like someone whose family and property were removed.” Ibn Hibban

Controls his tongue/speech

"And backbite not one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful.'' (49:12)

Abu Hurairah (radiallahu anh) reported: The Prophet (salallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day must either speak good or remain silent.''
[Muslim]

Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari (radiallahu anh) reported: I asked the Messenger of Allah (salallahu 'alayhi wa sallam): "Who is the most excellent among the Muslims?'' He said, "One from whose tongue and hands the other Muslims are secure.''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Dutiful to their parents

In Quran, Allah Almighty says: “And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him; and that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them, but address them in terms of honor.”(Quran, 17-23)

The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) has said: “Goodness towards (one’s) parents is the greatest obligatory act.”

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: “Every righteous child who casts a look of mercy and affection upon his parents shall be granted, for every look of his, rewards equivalent to that of an accepted Hajj.”  Those around the Prophet questioned: “O’ Prophet of Allah!  Even if he were to look at them a hundred times a day?”  The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) replied: “Indeed!  Allah is the Greatest and Most Kind.”

Good in Manners

One day close companion of the Messenger, Hazrat Umar was seating in the speaker's place of the Mosque and he address the people saying, "O people, be humble because I have heard that Rasulullah, peace be upon him saying: the person who embody humbleness for the sake of Allah, Allah grants him high honor, as a result he (or she) becomes lesser in his own eyes but greater in people's eyes."

The Holy Messenger has transmitted: "Give me guarantee for six things, I will become a guarantor of Paradise for you."
1) When you speak, you shall speak the truth
2) When you promise anything, you shall fulfill it
3) When you preserve anything (keepsafe, trust) for others, you must return it
4)Protect your gaze from misuse
5)Keep away your hands from wrongful actions.

He (s.a.w) said:  ‘The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character.’ (Narrated by Bukhari).

RasulUllah (s.a.w) said: “No deed that will be placed on the scale of deeds [on the Day of Judgement] will be heavier than good character. Indeed, a person with good character will attain the rank of those with a good record of voluntary fasts and prayers.”  (Narrated by Tirmizi).

Controls his emotions

Narated By Abu Huraira : A man said to the Prophet , “Advise me! “The Prophet said, “Do not become angry and furious.” The man asked (the same) again and again, and the Prophet said in each case, “Do not become angry and furious.”
Sahih Bukhari , Book 073, Hadith 137

Good Deeds and Sins

Good Deed and Sins

The example of These two things are like studying improves grades, this is the example for Good Deeds, and that avoiding study worsens grades. We are here in the world for a test, and also to prove our worth to be prostrated by all Angels and to live in Paradise. Shaytaan challenged us that we are not worthy for the value we got. He said to Allah:"I am better than him. You created me of fire while You created him(Prophet Adam) of clay."(Surah Araaf: 12)

The reality of this time is that a Muslim put faith upon Allah and do what the people of others do, what European do. We need to do what Allah have commanded us, and to avoid what He has forbidden.

The Story of Owais bin Amir Qarni

The story of Owais Qarn

The lesson we learn from this companion, or according to other historian, Tabaeen(Followers of Prophet's companion), is that love Prophet even without seeing him. Hazrat Owais bin Amir Qarni was a man of Yemen born on Asir region, Qarn in 594 CE.
His father, Amir, knew a lot of Islam, but passed away when Hazrat Owais was young. He devoted his son on fasting, praying, and service to his mother, who was weak, ill, and blind. He profound love for Prophet. Owais never meet Prophet or see him in person, but the Prophet knew about his love for him. Imam Muslim named one full chapter in his one of the most reliable tomes of Hadith in Qarni’s name: “The Virtues of Owais Qarni” in Sahih Muslim. It records a Hadith quoting Umar ibn Al-Khattab, who said: “I heard Allah’s Messenger, peace be upon him, saying: ‘There would come to you Owais bin Amir, of Qarn, a branch of the Murid tribe, along with the reinforcement of the people of Yemen. He had been suffering from leprosy which would have been cured but for the space of a dirham. His treatment with his mother would have been very kind. If he would take an oath in the name of Allah (for something), He would honor it. Ask him to beg forgiveness for you (from Allah) in case it is possible for you.”
Owais learned that there is a great reward in Islam for serving parents. His mother was sick and blind. So he devoted himself solely to the service of his mother.
He was 28 years of age when Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) had migrated to Madinah Munawwarah. He had a keen desire to visit him, but was preoccupied with the service of his sick mother. Yet he would keep a tab on the developments in Hijaz.
The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) knew about Qarni and his love for him. He once told Omar ibn Khattab about Qarni and had predicted that Omar would meet Qarni after his (the Prophet’s) departure from the world. He gave all the details about him and advised him to seek prayers for his forgiveness and for the whole Ummah.
The companions asked if they could see him but the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: “No, only Omar bin Khattab and Ali would meet him,” and gave identity marks of Qarni. He directed Omar and Ali: “When you see him, convey to him my salaam and ask him to pray for my Ummah.”
During Prophet (peace be upon him)’s last days, he asked Omar and Ali to pass his Jubba (the blessed cloak) to Qarni and ask him to pray for the forgiveness of the Muslim Ummah. This demonstrates the exalted status of Qarni.
Qarni, the Prophet is said to have remarked, is the best among tabeiin, (second generation of the companions). Qarni rubbed the blessed cloak over his face and eyes, and kissed it, when he finally received it. The blessed cloak, it is said, is preserved in Istanbul, Turkey.
Referring to Qarni, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) once told his companions: “There is a person in my Ummah whose prayers would bring forgiveness to as many sinners as the number of the sheep in the tribes of Rabia and Mudar.”
The two tribes of Rabia and Mudar were well known for raising sheep during the time of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).
He once said to Umar bin Khattab that he love to live with poor people. He took part in the Battle of Siffin(37 A.H.) and there he got wounded and unfortunately passed away at the age of 63.
His life is a great example for the love for Prophet without meeting him.
He is buried in either Salalah, Oman or in Ar Raqqah, Syria. In 2014, May 31, it was demolished by a blast. That shrine was in Syria, Ar Raqqah. Close to it was the grave of Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir.

What is the Straight Path

What is the straight path

(Through Qur'anic verses)

We recite Surah Fatiha at least 32 times a day. And in it we ask for 'The Straight Path'.

Have we ever thought what is it? A Muslim asking for a straight path? Isn't he already in the straight path? Lets find out what the Qur'an says about the 'Straight Path'.

Say to them (O Muhammad!): 'Come, let me recite what your Lord has laid down to you:
(i) that you associate nothing with Him;
 (ii) and do good to your parents;
(iii) and do not slay your children out of fear of poverty. We provide you and will likewise provide them with sustenance;
(iv) and do not even draw to things shameful - be they open or secret;
(v) and do not slay the soul sanctified by Allah except in just cause; this He has enjoined upon you so that you may understand; ( 151 )

 (vi) and do not even draw near to the property of the orphan in his minority except in the best manner;
(vii) and give full measures and weight with justice; We do not burden anyone beyond his capacity; (viii) When you speak, be just, even though it concern a near of kin;
(ix) and fulfill the covenant of Allah. That is what He has enjoined upon you so that you may take heed. ( 152 )

 (x) This is My way -that which is straight: follow it, then, and do not follow other paths lest they scatter you from His path. This is what He has enjoined upon you, so that you may beware.' ( 153 )
(Surah An'aam: 6: 151-153)

May Allah guide us to straight path, Ameen!

Hijrat(Migration) in Islam

Migration in Islam

Many Prophets did the same thing in their mission; Migration. They did it when the majority of people rejected their message. They will then migrate with the minority either to avoid an doom when approximately 98% people reject their or when the people are enough to make a society, the Prophets will migrate and do Jihad against them.
We can take the example of Prophet Idrees and Prophet Muhammad. Prophet Idrees migrated from Babylon to Egypt(Memphis). Many people reject his message so he settled in Egypt with few of his followers. Then he did Jihad against the enemies and almost overcome them. It is said that Prophet Idrees was the first one to raise arms against non believers.
Prophet Muhammad also migrated to Madina and did Jihad against the disbelievers when they proved harmful for Muslim community.
Many Prophets are mentioned to migrated when a doom is coming disbelievers, like Prophet Lut, Prophet Hud, Prophet Salih, Prophet Shuaib.
So we learn that when a certain people are persecuted in a place where non Muslims live, they should migrated from there and come to a Muslim majority place.
